Emma Raducanu secured a significant victory at the 2024 Eastbourne International by defeating Jessica Pegula, marking her first career win over a top-10 player. In a grueling three-set match that spanned two days, Raducanu fought back from a set down and saved a match point to eventually win 4-6, 7-6(6), 7-5.

Reflecting on the match, Raducanu expressed her surprise and exhaustion, acknowledging how challenging it was to overcome an in-form Pegula, especially following her success in Berlin.

She highlighted the importance of this win, calling it one of the most meaningful of her career, and emphasized the healthy competition among British players on grass, which has spurred her and her compatriots to perform well on this surface. Raducanu will now face Daria Kasatkina in the quarterfinals, hoping to continue her strong run.
