According to Rune, chants of his name, which may have sounded like “boo” in some European languages, were not intended as derision. He downplayed the impact of the crowd’s behavior on the match, acknowledging Djokovic’s superior performance. Rune highlighted that the support was generally balanced between the players, and any perceived hostility did not influence the outcome.
