The injury, initially sustained while playing with his son, became unmanageable as it began to affect his daily life. Despite efforts to rest and recover, the pain persisted, and Spieth re-aggravated the injury during everyday activities.

Ultimately, surgery became necessary when non-surgical options failed to provide relief. Spieth expressed hope for a full recovery and an improved quality of life post-surgery, sharing that his main motivation was being able to fully enjoy moments with his family without the risk of further injury.
