Tiger Woods slammed by 9/11 families for holding LIV Golf talks on eve of anniversary

Tiger Woods has come under fire for his involvement in discussions with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia just a day before the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Woods, along with several representatives of the PGA Tour, met with the Saudi-backed fund in New York, fueling outrage from families affected by the 9/11 tragedy. Brett Eagleson, president of 9/11 Justice, expressed his deep disappointment, calling the timing and nature of the meeting “disgusting” and “unacceptable.

” He condemned Woods and the PGA Tour for engaging with the same government accused of ties to the terrorist attack that shook the United States in 2001.

The PGA Tour’s ongoing negotiations with the Saudi fund, linked to LIV Golf, have drawn heavy criticism since the partnership talks began last year. Eagleson and other 9/11 families have voiced their frustration over what they see as a betrayal by PGA Tour officials, many of whom had previously spoken out against Saudi Arabia.
