2nd Golfer, Jordan Spieth, Joins Tiger Woods in Backing Cobbs Creek Project

Professional golfer Jordan Spieth has joined forces with Tiger Woods in supporting the $150 million restoration and expansion of the Cobbs Creek Golf Campus, located in West Philadelphia and Upper Darby. Spieth, a three-time major champion, has contributed a $250,000 grant through the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation to fund the construction of a junior putting green.

The 20,000-square-foot green will provide younger players with the opportunity to be introduced to golf, fostering the next generation of talent. According to Jeff Shanahan, president of the Cobbs Creek Foundation, this new addition is part of a broader effort to make golf more accessible and engaging for local youth.

The putting green will be located outside the TGR Learning Lab, an educational center being developed in partnership with Tiger Woods’ charity, the TGR Foundation. The lab and green, slated for completion in 2025, aim to not only promote the sport but also provide mentorship and life skills to young participants.

Annie Spieth, Jordan’s wife, expressed her hope that the project will inspire a love for golf among youth, noting that the sport offers valuable lessons in life. This collaboration highlights the commitment of both the Spieth and Woods families to investing in future generations through the game of golf.
