LIV Golf announces major change for 2025 season as Greg Norman opens door to PGA Tour stars

LIV Golf has announced a significant change to its qualification process for the 2025 season, with only one spot available through this year’s Q-School event, branded as LIV Promotions. This event, hosted by Greg Norman, will be held from December 12-14 at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia, moving from last year’s venue in Abu Dhabi.

The qualifying tournament remains a 72-hole event over three days, with the final two rounds taking place on Sunday. Unlike the previous year, when the top three finishers qualified, this year’s promotion is limited to only the top performer, making the competition for a spot on the roster more intense than ever.

Greg Norman expressed his excitement for the event, emphasizing that the LIV Golf League offers a unique experience filled with “energy, camaraderie, and global competition.” In his statement, Norman highlighted that LIV Promotions provides a career-defining opportunity for top players worldwide to make their mark on the global golf stage.

This year’s candidates are divided into categories, including highly ranked amateurs and participants from major tournaments like the Walker and Palmer Cups.
