Coco Gauff recently responded to a social media post by her former doubles partner Jessica Pegula, who shared a late recap of her WTA Finals experience in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Pegula’s Instagram post featured a series of photos and videos showcasing her time on and off the court, including desert excursions, her locker room setup, and the WTA Finals gala.

Captioning her post with a lighthearted “Forgot to post these? @wtafinalsriyadh,” Pegula drew reactions from fans and peers alike. Among them was Gauff, who commented warmly with a simple “Cuteeee.”

The WTA Finals in Riyadh saw contrasting fortunes for the two players. In their Round Robin clash on November 3, Gauff secured a commanding 6-3, 6-2 victory over Pegula, marking her second win against her compatriot in six meetings.

While Gauff advanced through the tournament, ultimately defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals and Zheng Qinwen in a thrilling final to claim the title, Pegula had to withdraw due to injury after losing her first two matches.

Despite their diverging paths, Pegula expressed gratitude for the experience, highlighting the warm welcome she received in Riyadh. Meanwhile, Gauff’s triumph cemented her status as one of the brightest young stars in tennis, becoming the youngest WTA Finals champion since Maria Sharapova in 2004.
