Bryson DeChambeau has given fans a sneak peek of an upcoming episode from his popular YouTube series Break 50, this time featuring NFL legend Tony Romo. DeChambeau, a notable figure in LIV Golf, has previously collaborated with high-profile personalities such as former US President Donald Trump, former golfer and social media star Paige Spiranac, Masters champion Sergio Garcia, and PGA Tour Champions player John Daly.
The Break 50 series has gained significant attention, with DeChambeau’s collaboration with Trump going viral and helping the golfer reach over a million subscribers on his YouTube channel. Now, he is gearing up for another exciting release, partnering with Romo, a veteran NFL star known for his passion for golf. DeChambeau recently shared a teaser video on his X (formerly Twitter) account, showing himself and Romo on the golf course. He captioned the clip:
“Break 50 with the legend Tony Romo, dropping tomorrow, what do you think we shot?”
Tony Romo, who is currently attempting to earn a PGA Tour card, will compete in the pre-qualifying round of Q-School from September 18 to 20. Romo, a former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, has long been an avid golfer and has tried to secure a tour card in the past. However, his efforts have been met with challenges. Last year, he withdrew from the pre-qualifying competition after two rounds, and in 2018, although he made it through the pre-qualifying round, he struggled in the first stage, shooting 13 over par.
Despite these setbacks, Romo is making another attempt this year, with the pre-qualifying round taking place at Sand Creek Station Golf Club. The qualification process to earn a PGA Tour card consists of four stages: pre-qualifying, first stage, second stage, and the final stage, which will take place from December 12 to 15 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. While Romo’s chances of competing on the PGA Tour remain uncertain, fans can enjoy watching him play alongside DeChambeau in the upcoming Break 50 episode.
What’s Next for Bryson DeChambeau?
DeChambeau is currently enjoying a break from the golf course after the conclusion of the LIV Golf Greenbrier event. However, his break will soon end, as LIV Golf players are set to return to action at the LIV Golf Chicago event, scheduled from September 13 to 15 at Bolingbrook Golf Club.
DeChambeau has had a strong season both in LIV Golf and in the Majors. He won the second Major of his career at the 2024 U.S. Open and delivered strong performances in other tournaments, including a T6 finish at the Masters and a runner-up result at the PGA Championship. However, he missed the cut at The Open Championship. On the LIV Golf circuit, DeChambeau has participated in 12 tournaments this season, securing six top-10 finishes, with his best result being a tie for third at the LIV Golf Nashville event. Fans will be eager to see him return to competition in Chicago.
