Charley Hull makes young fans’ day at Paris Olympics, gives away her golf balls and GB marker- “It’s nice to see young kids out there”

Charley Hull, representing Team Great Britain in the women’s golf event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has not only been competing but also connecting with her fans. Playing at Le Golf National’s Albatross Course, the British golfer made a special effort to brighten the day for young spectators after her round.

Despite a challenging performance, Hull took time to give away her golf balls and a GB marker to the children in the crowd. Reflecting on the moment, Hull expressed her joy in seeing young fans present at the event.

“I like just seeing a lot of young kids out there. I gave them a few golf balls and my GB marker. It’s just nice to interact with the crowd,” she said in a post-round interview.

Hull has gained significant popularity, especially after a memorable moment at the 2024 US Women’s Open, where a viral photo of her signing autographs while smoking a cigarette sparked conversation on social media. Her down-to-earth approach and fan-friendly attitude continue to win over many.

A Tough Performance at the Olympics

Coming into the Olympics, Hull had +2600 odds to perform well, but her campaign didn’t go as expected. She struggled from the very first round, beginning with a double bogey after hitting the water on her first shot. Seven additional bogeys left her at +9 after the first day.

On day two, Hull had a brief resurgence, scoring three birdies on the front nine. However, her momentum faltered with a bogey and double bogey on the 16th and 18th holes. Despite a decent third round, where she managed five birdies and two bogeys, Hull remains at +5 overall, currently tied for 36th going into the final round.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Lydia Ko is leading the event at -9, with Team USA’s Rose Zhang and Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux close behind at -7 as they prepare for the final round.

Although the competition hasn’t gone her way, Charley Hull’s sportsmanship and interactions with young fans have left a lasting positive impression at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
