Emma Raducanu has announced her withdrawal from the Ningbo Open in China next week as she continues her recovery from injury. The 21-year-old British tennis star has been struggling with fitness issues after spraining ligaments in her foot during a match against Daria Kasatkina at the Korea Open last month.
This marks her latest setback in a string of tournament withdrawals, having already pulled out of both the China Open in Beijing and the Wuhan Open earlier this month.
Raducanu’s injury troubles have limited her participation this season, with only three tournaments played since Wimbledon. Despite her desire to compete in as many events as possible before the end of the year, her recovery has not progressed as hoped. However, she is now targeting a return at the Hong Kong Open on October 28, which could be her last appearance before the Billie Jean King Cup Finals. Raducanu’s focus remains on regaining full fitness in order to compete at her best.
