2024 International Team Grades
Jason Day (1-2):
Day’s Saturday benching raised eyebrows, and his singles match against Schauffele ended in a lopsided defeat. Not the performance expected from a veteran player.
Grade: D
Tom Kim (1-2-1):
Kim’s energy was a highlight, as he became the International team’s emotional leader. However, his results didn’t back up his enthusiasm, especially with the Saturday night loss that stifled the team’s momentum.

Hideki Matsuyama (2-3):
As the highest-ranked player on the International team, Matsuyama played with determination, particularly in his hard-fought singles win over Scheffler.
Grade: B+
Sungjae Im (1-4):
Im was consistently overwhelmed, especially by Henley, who defeated him three times across various formats. A disappointing week for the usually reliable player.

Corey Conners (2-3):
Conners gave his best effort but couldn’t keep up with the stronger U.S. pairings. His lone bright spot came with a solid singles win over Tony Finau.

Taylor Pendrith (2-3):
Pendrith had moments of promise but struggled against stronger opposition. His Sunday defeat to Cantlay epitomized his inability to make a real impact.

Si Woo Kim (2-2):
Kim brought the fire and spirit the International team needed. He was one of their best players throughout the week but fell short in his singles match against Bradley.

Adam Scott (2-3):
Scott’s record in Presidents Cup appearances (winless in 11) remains a painful stat. He battled hard in the team events but was outclassed by Morikawa in singles.
Grade: C
Min Woo Lee (0-1-1):
Lee saw limited action, making it hard to fully assess his potential. His half-point in singles was a small consolation.
Grade: Incomplete
Christiaan Bezuidenhout (2-1):
Bezuidenhout struggled in the team events and earned a Saturday benching. His singles win came after the cup was decided, but he didn’t have much of an impact.

Byeong Hun An (1-1-1):
An deserved more playing time, especially given his solid performances. His draw with Theegala on Sunday was a bright spot.

Mackenzie Hughes (1-3):
Hughes started the week with some fanfare, but his form faded quickly, leading to a subpar performance overall.
Grade: D
Captain Mike Weir:
Weir had the tougher job, managing a less talented roster. His decision to bench four players on Saturday proved costly, as those same players delivered mixed results on Sunday. He kept the team composed as tensions rose but couldn’t prevent a lackluster finish.
