I messed up big Time! : Nelly korda on late AIG Women Opens collapse

World number one Nelly Korda candidly acknowledged that she “messed up” her chance at securing a second major title of 2024 after relinquishing a two-shot lead during the final holes of the AIG Women’s Open.

Korda, who was on the verge of her seventh win of the season following a victorious Chevron Championship, faltered on the par-five 14th at St Andrews with a double-bogey, ultimately placing her in a tie with Jenny Shin, Lilia Vu, and eventual winner Lydia Ko.

Despite her setback, Korda remained optimistic about her overall performance, emphasizing her strong putting and ball-striking throughout the tournament. Lydia Ko’s triumph marked her first major victory in eight years and followed her recent gold medal win at the Paris Olympics.
