Jordan Spieth’s hometown appearance at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson didn’t go as planned, with the three-time major winner missing the cut. However, a fan left TPC Craig Ranch with more than just a memorable story. Spieth’s tee shot on the 16th hole veered off course, striking the elbow of an unsuspecting spectator.
The fan, who was left with a large welt, was compensated with a signed golf ball and $20 from Spieth, who jokingly declared, “Beers on me.” Despite the fortunate bounce back into the fairway, Spieth’s luck ran out, and he failed to make the weekend cut.
