Lindsey Vonn, the legendary skier, has faced criticism from online trolls after sharing bikini photos, but she’s standing firm in her confidence: “I’m perfectly fine the way I am.”
At 36 years old, Vonn is unapologetically proud of her natural appearance, openly sharing her thoughts on Instagram to her two million followers. She took the opportunity to confront body shamers and share an empowering message.
In a post featuring a series of bikini photos, Vonn wrote: “Posting swimsuit pictures recently has been more intimidating than you might think. Even as an athlete, I’ve been subject to harsh comments and media stories tearing apart my body, and yes, it hurts sometimes.”
Acknowledging that she’s human like everyone else, she added: “My stomach folds, cellulite shows on my butt, and I don’t always fill out the top of my swimsuit perfectly… but I always remind myself how my body has helped me accomplish incredible things in my life, and I’m proud of how strong I am.”
Vonn, who has three Olympic medals and two World Championship titles, made it clear that she’s not chasing society’s beauty standards: “I’m not a size zero, and that’s perfectly fine with me.”
She also emphasized her commitment to natural beauty, stating: “One thing I can promise all of you is that I have never used Photoshop on my photos, and I’m proud to say I’ve never had any kind of plastic surgery. No Botox, no fillers, no mini surgeries. Literally nothing.”
“I’m 100% natural and 100% Lindsey,” she continued, encouraging her followers to embrace self-love regardless of what critics may say. “For anyone who feels self-conscious or down about their appearance, be strong, stay healthy, and love yourself, no matter what the haters say.”
Vonn concluded her message by thanking those who have supported her and called for the continuation of the body positivity movement: “A special thank you to all of you who have been positive and supportive… let’s keep the culture of body positivity alive! ❤️🙏🏻💪🏻”
