The much-anticipated exhibition match between stars from LIV Golf and the PGA Tour now has an official date and venue. The 18-hole made-for-TV event, featuring top golfers Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau, will take place on December 17 at the renowned Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.

This new series, distinct from the popular “The Match,” is set to air on TNT Sports, though broadcast details have yet to be confirmed. The four participants, who each hold a stake in this enterprise, are expected to host this event annually, with plans to rotate international venues every other season.

The event comes at a time of significant momentum for the four golfers, each having achieved major successes in 2024. Scheffler is fresh off a historic year, securing his second Masters victory and an Olympic gold medal. DeChambeau celebrated his second US Open win, while McIlroy added three global victories to his resume. Koepka, a dominant figure in the LIV Golf League, also captured two major titles this season.

While details on the format are still under wraps, the event is expected to be a matchplay competition. This spectacle also occurs as discussions between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf’s financial backer, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, continue, hinting at a potential unification in the world of professional golf.
