Scottie Scheffler’s cap, worn on the day of his arrest during the PGA Championship in May 2024, sold for an impressive $2,375 (£1,797) at a charity auction. The white Nike hat, signed by Scheffler, was part of a lot benefiting the Kids Cancer Alliance.

The auction also included three autographed golf balls from the world No. 1, drawing significant interest due to the hat’s connection to the golfer’s eventful day at Valhalla, where he faced multiple charges following a traffic incident.

On May 17, en route to Valhalla, Scheffler was involved in an altercation with law enforcement after traffic delays stemming from a fatal pedestrian accident. Reports indicate that in the confusion, Scheffler was forcibly removed from his vehicle and charged with second-degree assault, reckless

driving, and criminal mischief, among other offenses. Despite the drama, Scheffler’s gear from that day has become a highly sought-after piece of memorabilia, underscoring the mix of controversy and fandom surrounding his career.
